FAQS

Welcome to our FAQs page. We hope the information provided here will help answer many of the questions our customers are curious about. Please contact us with any questions you have that may not be answered here.

What, exactly, does a physical therapist do?
Physical therapists are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education.  Our physical therapists create personalized treatment plans that help our patients improve mobility, prevent or recover from injury, as well as manage pain and other chronic conditions.  Our goal is to empower people to be active participants in their own treatment, and we will work collaboratively with other health professionals to ensure patients receive comprehensive care. https://www.moveforwardpt.com/Benefits/Default.aspx

Do I need a physician’s referral?
You do not need a physician’s referral to be evaluated by a Physical Therapist. Alabama law allows the public to access a PT directly. We will then work with other medical practitioners as necessary to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment.

What does being a “concierge” service mean?
We provide our patients and clients with the full range of physical therapy treatments and options, only we offer them at the patient’s home or office. We have found this to be a significant factor in reducing the overall cost of traditional physical therapy, which involves multiple visits, usually over several weeks, to a therapy clinic.  Our company, 10x Physiotherapy, acts just as a concierge at a hotel would, bringing the therapy you need directly to you.

Do you bring your equipment with you?
Yes. Depending on the type of therapy being offered, this may involve a portable table as well as various equipment for a variety of therapies that may include Functional Dry Needling, resistance training, or Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). The whole idea behind a “concierge” physical therapy service is to be mobile and that means having everything that’s needed with you.

How much space do you need to set up for the treatments?
Some space is essential, but it doesn’t have to be a large empty room. Generally, a home’s den or perhaps a TV viewing room, or a small conference room at work will be of ample size to allow for the setting up of a table. Often, exercises can be taught and practiced using a relatively small space on the floor.

How long does a visit last?
A typical visit is scheduled for 1 hour. Since we don’t waste time doing a lot of paperwork, or juggling multiple patients, we find that 1 hour is usually sufficient time to provide whatever services are needed. Of course if we determine based on specific needs that more time is needed, we will plan accordingly.

What do I need to wear?
The best answer for this question is always “loose-fitting clothing.” That’s because so much of what we do requires movement, stretching, flexibility of the muscles and joints, etc. We also usually want to visually assess the area we are treating, so shorts work better than pants for something like a knee.

Do you file my insurance?
In order to deliver high quality, 1-on-1 care, directly to you without the burden of insurance requirements (that don’t add benefit to the patient), the 10x Physiotherapy model does not operate In-Network with insurance companies. However, we can provide a “super bill” that would provide supporting documentation that you can submit with your insurance out of network claim. (It is up to the patient to obtain all the necessary forms for submission, as well as to check your out of network benefits)

Can I use my HSA, FSA, or HRA?
Many of our patients have a high deductible insurance plan and pay with their own money in various forms.  Many companies have chosen to utilize a Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to deal with the large deductible insurance.  Since 10x Physiotherapy is a medical service provider, these accounts generally pay for our services.

Do you offer price breaks for multiple visits?
We offer several multi-visit discount packages, and you can learn more about all the pricing options we offer on our website.  Here’s the link: www.10xphysio.com/pricing

Will you need a list of the medications I take? What about my previous medical history?
Yes, this will be a part of the form that is to be completed before your first visit. You can find that form on our website at www.10xphysio.com/patient-information.
